At the end of the bay past Matiota, Laginha is the city’s beach: thick white sand, shallow calm water sheltered by the bay, and a line of beach bars behind it. Walkable from the centre in about 25 minutes along the waterfront, or a short taxi. Sunset here is a ritual.
