google.com/mapsIn 2019 the Portuguese artist Vhils, real name Alexandre Farto, carved a large bas-relief portrait of Cesária Évora into the facade of the Municipal Library of Mindelo on Avenida Marginal, drilling the lines over about three days. Inaugurated that October, it quickly became one of the city's signature sights.
